With the rapid growth of trading cards as a viable alternative investment, Alt is revolutionizing the way collectors buy and sell sports and trading cards. We offer a convenient platform with the lowest fees in the industry, empowering owners of high-end cards to maximize the potential of their assets. Our mission is to increase the liquidity of alternative assets and address many of the friction points in the hobby through innovative, tech-based solutions. By leveraging industry-leading sales data and cutting-edge technology, Alt is making the trading card market more accessible and efficient for all collectors.

Sending Your Collection to the Alt Vault

Note: When you send cards to the Vault, an inventory of what you are sending is not necessary. They will be professionally photographed, valued, and automatically uploaded to your portfolio. Our Vault team will take care of all the cataloging for you.

Generate A Shipping Label Through Alt

Provide the address where your cards are coming from to create a shipping label. We currently only support label generation for US addresses.

Select a shipping option - Customers are responsible for all shipping and insurance fees for sending cards to Alt. The shipping charges will appear in your account activity.

Optional: Include shipping insurance. Insure your package for coverage up to $50,000. The cost of shipping insurance is .75% of the coverage amount you specify and will be included in each shipping rate option.

Ship Your Cards Independently

The recipient on your shipment should be listed similarly to the below example:

Alt (#VaultID): Your Name

71 Southgate Blvd

New Castle, DE 19720

Shipping and Vault Intake Fees:

Our vaulting services are free for sale eligible cards. Only cards graded by PSA, BGS, BVG, SGC, and CSG are eligible for sale on the platform. They must also not fall into the below categories; if they do, they are not eligible for sale, only storage.

  • Qualifiers: In addition to a numerical grade, some graded companies also carry a Qualifier to identify specific characteristics of the card.

Unsupported graded cards and ungraded (Raw) cards will incur a $5 vaulting fee. This fee covers digitization, storage, and insurance, with no ongoing storage fees. You can outtake your cards at any time.

Note: We maintain strict quality standards, and damaged or scratched slabs won't be listed on the platform. These cards will be available for storage only.

Due to the prevalence of raw cards being sent as "filler cards," the Vault team will not hold raw cards indefinitely. To avoid erroneous fees being charged, Alt will contact customers directly if large amounts of raw cards are addressed to a Customer's Vault. Raw cards that arrive at the Vault will be disposed of if Alt does not hear from a customer within 2 weeks of contacting them or if the customer does not complete the required action within this period.

When Alt Receives Your Package

When Alt receives your package, we use the (#VaultID) to match your account and process your items. We will process your items within 3 business days after the day we receive them (i.e., next-day processing), and we will send a confirmation email once it's done.

When you send your cards to the Vault, they will be professionally photographed, valued, and automatically uploaded to your portfolio. Everything in the Vault is fully insured, and once your items are processed, you will be able to create a listing for each item if wished. (Only PSA, BGS, and SGC graded cards can be sold on Exchange; Alt will only store all other cards at this time.) There is a one-time $5 per card fee for any unsupported cards.

How are the selling prices determined for cards on Exchange?

Sellers have full control over both their cards' listing type and price. To sell a card on Alt, it needs to be graded by PSA, BGS, BVG, SGC, or CGC and sent to our Vault first.

Insurance

Customers are responsible for all insurance coverage for packages sent to the Vault. This can be done through a shipping carrier or a personal policy.

To insure your cards while shipping them to the Vault, you can create a shipping label on our website and select shipping insurance for up to $50,000. For additional insurance coverage beyond $50,000, we advise our customers with high-value cards to ship to the Vault while utilizing a personal policy. We can also provide options above $50,000 if you'd like; please contact Support an Account Manager for more information.

For any questions, please contact support through the messenger located in the corner of your browser or reach out to support@alt.xyz.
