Burning Your ALT Mint

Every ALT Mint is a collectible, 3D model that’s backed by a card held in our ALT Vault. 400 ALT Mint assets have been placed in individual digital packs that can be collected, traded or sold. Once a pack has been opened and the ALT Mint asset is revealed, it can be sold, used to redeem the physical asset, or held onto to enjoy the benefits of ownership.

Burning your ALT Mint is irreversible. You will send your unrevealed card to a burn address, ultimately eliminating your card from the blockchain. However, transactions leading up to the burn will remain on the blockchain ledger.

In the coming weeks, you will be able to connect your wallet to alt.xyz/mint, burn, then redeem the underlying card tied to your ALT Mint. At this time, to burn your ALT Mint and redeem your card, you will need to contact our support team.

When contacting support for your request, you will be asked to:

  • Transfer your ALT Mint to the burn address
  • Confirm the email associated with your Alt account
  • Provide feedback about your experience

 

Transfer your ALT Mint to the burn address

There are two ways to transfer NFTs via OpenSea, or you can transfer from your crypto wallet app. 

1. Transfer it directly from the Profile page. See How do I create an OpenSea account? if you haven’t interacted with that marketplace before. 

  • Navigate to an NFT you'd like to transfer.
  • In the bottom left corner of the item card, click the three-dot menu and select Transfer.
  • Confirm your selection and press Transfer.
  • Enter the recipient's wallet address (provided by Alt support) and press Transfer again.
  • Confirm the signature request in your wallet.
  • You will get a confirmation message once the item has been transferred. You can also view the confirmation on Etherscan by clicking View transaction.

2. You can also transfer an NFT directly from the item page. 

  • Navigate to the arrow-shaped Transfer button in the top-right corner.
  • Enter the recipient's wallet address and click Transfer.
  • Confirm the signature request in your wallet.
  • You will get a confirmation message once the item has been transferred.

 

Confirm the email associated with your Alt account

There are two ways to receive the underlying card tied to your Alt Mint.

1. If your Alt account is verified, the card will be placed in your Portfolio within one business day. From there, you are able to take further actions on the platform with your card. 

2. If your Alt account is unverified, support will provide further information on how to redeem it.

 

Provide feedback about your experience (optional)

When your support request is close to completion, you will be asked to provide any feedback you have about ALT Mint. We appreciate any feedback as we continue to grow and improve the platform.
