Vaulting your cards with Alt opens up a world of possibilities for your collection. Here is everything you need to know about how the Alt Vault works.

We've made secure storage affordable. Vaulting services are free for cards graded by accepted companies. For non-graded (Raw) cards or cards graded by alternate companies, there's a $5 fee per card. And the best part? No ongoing storage fees; you can outtake your cards at any time.

Due to the prevalence of raw cards being sent as "filler cards", the Vault team will not hold raw cards indefinitely without customer confirmation. To avoid erroneous fees being charged, Alt will contact customers directly if large amounts of raw cards are addressed to a Customer's Vault. Raw cards that arrive at the Vault will be disposed of if Alt does not hear from a customer within 2 weeks once they've been contacted.

All cards shipped out of the Vault will be charged an outtake fee based on their Alt Value at the time of outtake. There is currently a maximum shipping limit of 200 cards per outtake request.

Atelier Delaware was selected for its secure envelope in a non-disaster-prone location.

All assets are stored in the highest quality secure storage facility in the industry, and fully insured while in the Vault, as well as when being shipped out of the Vault. Alt has standard security protocols for receiving, digitizing, cataloging, and vaulting alternative assets.

Everything sent to the Alt Vault is 100% insured to its Alt Value, and stored in a temperature-controlled, fire-safe venue with 24/7 security, that is amongst the highest quality facilities in the industry.

Alt Vault Safety Features & Protocol

Shipping to the Vault: Customers are responsible for shipping charges to the Vault. A prepaid shipping label can be created from your Alt Profile, and shipping charges will appear in your account activity. Standard shipping rates apply. Customers can purchase insurance through our insurance carrier for up to $50,000 per shipment.

Vault Operating Hours: We accept packages from all carriers at our facility Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST. If delivery is attempted outside of those hours, it will be reattempted during business hours. Drop-ins are available upon request.

When Alt receives your package, we use the (#VaultID) to match your account and process your items. We will process your items within 3 business days after the day we receive them (i.e., next-day processing), and we will send a confirmation email once it's done.

Shipping from the Vault: Customers are responsible for standard shipping and insurance rate charges from the Vault. Please allow 2 business days for assets to be removed from the Vault and processed prior to leaving our facilities.

Alt does not currently support international shipping but looks forward to providing this in the near future. Users will need to request an outtake to a domestic US address and then ship internationally if desired.

What kind of security is in place at the Vault?

A: All cards are stored in the highest quality secure storage facility in the industry. The Vault has standard security protocols set in place and state-of-the-art features for receiving, digitizing, cataloging, and vaulting alternative assets.

What is the sales tax if I ship to Vault?

A: Our Vault is located in Delaware, a sales-tax-free state. All purchases sent directly to the Vault are subject to 0% sales tax. All purchases made on the Alt platform are also subject to 0% sales tax.

How long after sending my assets to the Vault will I see them in my portfolio?

A: You will receive acknowledgement of receipt within 1 business day of arrival, and your assets will be professionally photographed and available in your Portfolio 3 business days after that.

What are the Vault shipping fees?

A: Shipping fees are determined by the value of a package being shipped, the courier selected to ship with (i.e. FedEx, USPS, etc.) and also the shipping speed selected. Customers are not required to use an Alt Shipping label generated from an Alt Account when shipping items to the Vault. When shipping items from the Vault, customers are required to use shipping + insurance options provided by Alt.

Are all vaulted assets insured?

A: Yes. All assets that are vaulted with Alt are insured.

How do I pay for Vault intake fees?

A: Vault Fees are automatically assessed to your Alt Account's Cash Balance upon the processing of your cards at the Vault.

Alt does not assert ownership rights over any assets deposited into the Vault. In the unlikely event of bankruptcy, or other extraordinary circumstances, Alt will return all user assets to their respective owners. As the custodian, Alt further ensures the protection of these assets through the maintenance of an insurance policy, which covers Alt's Vault. This insurance policy provides coverage adequate to safeguard the vaulted assets of users, up to the total aggregated market value of each asset.
