How can I get my cards graded and added to my Alt Vault?

Introduction

Card grading is an essential step for collectors and traders to ensure the authenticity and quality of their cards before listing them for sale or safe storage. Alt.xyz offers flexible options to facilitate this process, allowing you to either manage grading independently or take advantage of Alt’s grading submission services. This article outlines the available grading options, steps for submission, and important cost considerations.

Grading Options

You have two main options for getting your cards graded and added to the Alt Vault:

  1. Self-Managed Grading: - Submit the card directly to a grading company of your choice, such as PSA, BGS, or SGC. - After grading, arrange for the graded card to be shipped to your Alt Vault for listing and storage.

  2. Alt-Managed Grading: - Send your cards to Alt, which will forward them to PSA for grading on your behalf. - Alt handles all aspects of the submission, including: - Completing submission forms - Shipping and insurance - Quality assurance and tracking - Post-grading, the cards will be securely stored in your Alt Vault.

Steps for Submitting Cards to PSA via Alt

If you choose to submit cards through Alt to PSA, follow these steps:

  1. Identify Cards for Grading: - List the cards you wish to grade in the Alt chat so they can be included in the submission.

  2. Choose Grading Type: - Select between card-only grading or combined card-and-autograph grading.

  3. Select a PSA Service Level: - PSA offers several service levels with varying turnaround times and pricing, such as Value, Value Plus, Regular, Express, Super Express, or Walk-Through. Your choice will affect the cost.

  4. Understand Shipping Costs: - A shipping fee applies for sending cards to PSA, and additional fees for returning cards to Alt may be charged depending on the number of service levels in your submission. For instance, a $50 fee typically applies per service level.

  5. Vaulting Fees: - If you are submitting raw (ungraded) cards and wish to vault them prior to submission, an intake or vaulting fee will apply.

Costs and Fees

While exact fees may vary based on the service provider and service levels chosen, some key costs to be aware of include:

  • Grading Fees: These are determined by your chosen grading company and the selected service level.

  • Shipping Fees: For Alt-managed submissions, a standard shipping fee ($50 per service level) applies for sending cards to PSA. Cards returned to Alt may incur additional fees.

  • Vaulting Fees: If you vault raw cards before grading, intake or vaulting fees may apply.
