How to Receive a Valuation for Your Cards

If you’re looking to receive an Alt Value for your card, here’s what you need to know

Why a Valuation May Not Be Available Yet

If your card is not currently vaulted, Alt cannot guarantee a specific turnaround time for expert review.


In the meantime, you can access valuation insights through our self-service tools, including:

  • Search Bar (look up comparable cards)

  • Instant Pricer (quick estimated valuations)

  • My Collection (manage your portfolio)


How Alt Value is Calculated

Alt Value is based on a combination of market data and systematic expertise:

  • When recent sales data is available (e.g., for common cards like base Prizms), the value will closely reflect recent market transactions.

  • When sales data is limited, Alt uses comparable assets to anchor the valuation — similar to how a seasoned collector would estimate pricing.

  • For rare, vintage, or newly added cards, valuations may take longer, and it's normal for Alt Value to temporarily be unavailable while our system processes additional data.


Why Vaulting Your Card is the Best Option

To ensure your card receives an expert valuation, we recommend sending it to the Alt Vault. Vaulting provides:

  • Professional Imaging

  • Expert Valuation (Alt Value)

  • Secure 24/7 Storage in a temperature-controlled, monitored facility

Vaulting is free for all sale-eligible items, including:

  • Graded Cards (PSA, BGS, BVG, SGC, CGC)

  • Auto-Grade Only Cards

  • Factory-Sealed Cards

  • Graded Sealed Packs

Once your card passes through Alt’s quality assurance process, it will be professionally listed and eligible for sale if you choose.

Important: If a slab has visible damage or face scratches, it will not be sale-eligible but will still be available for storage.
