Items That Cannot Be Identified at This Time:
Raw or Ungraded Cards:
Alt does not currently accept raw cards to be listed for sale. However, our Alt Experts can assist with the PSA grading submission process to help you sell graded versions later, if desired.Factory-Sealed Cards:
Factory-sealed cards are accepted in Alt Auctions but cannot be submitted through Snap to Sell at this time. Please reach out to an Alt Expert for assistance with a manual consignment submission.Cert Number Not Legible:
Ensure your cert number is clear and unobstructed by glare, reflections, or shadows. If identification issues persist even after retaking your photo, contact support@alt.xyz and include a clear image of the card.
Understanding Market Factors in Cash Advances
Alt’s valuation model provides a point-in-time estimate, however market conditions can impact card valuations even after an estimate is provided.
To minimize risk:
Submit multiple cards for broader portfolio stability.
Diversify across sports, categories, and players.
Diversifying your submission helps maintain cash advance amounts and mitigates the risk of repricing.
Cash Advance Estimate Processing Time
Most estimates are completed within 1 business day, however processing times may vary slightly during periods of high volume.
Understanding Card Valuations & Providing Feedback
Alt provides transparency in pricing by displaying comparable sales (comps) used to determine valuations. If comps are available for your card, you will find them listed on the 'Estimate Details' page just before you schedule the cards for auction. If no direct comps exist, we use the most similar available items and apply a linear valuation model.
Your feedback matters!
If you disagree with a valuation or the comps shown, contact an Alt Expert through the app to discuss.
Expired Quotes & Declined Estimates
Expired Quotes:
Quotes will expire after 48 hours in order to reflect up-to-date market data. If your quote expires, you will need to submit a new request.
Declined Estimates:
If you decline an estimate, you can modify your lot by adding more cards or chatting with an Alt Expert to review alternative comps.
Providing feedback on why the quote didn’t work for you helps improve future valuations and helps us make improvements to the Snap to Sell feature for the entire community, so please share your feedback with us!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to sell my cards if I receive an estimate?
A: No, you are only committed once you accept a cash advance and ship your items to the vault.
What types of cards are eligible for Snap to Sell?
A: Only graded cards from PSA, BGS, CGC, and SGC are eligible for cash advances through the Snap to Sell feature at this time. For factory-sealed cards, chat with an Alt Expert for assistance with a submission.
Does the valuation I receive reflect the final auction sale price?
A: No, think of the quote as an informed preview — not a final sale price or offer to purchase. It helps you understand what your card might sell for based on Alt’s market analysis. This valuation is a market value assessment based on recent comparable sales — what our pricing team believes your card may reasonably sell for. If your submission qualifies, you'll also receive a separate quote for a cash advance, which is a portion of the total estimated value.
Can I make changes to my lot after submitting for a price estimate?
A: Yes. You can add items via the 'Estimate Details' screen before accepting an offer. If you need additional help, contact an Alt Expert.
Can I make changes to my lot after accepting a cash advance offer?
A: Generally speaking, no changes can be made to the submission once it has been accepted. All items must be shipped together as originally submitted in order to preserve the cash advance amount that was quoted. That said, an Alt Expert can assist with reverting the acceptance back if you need to make modifications.
Is Alt buying my card at the quoted price?
A: No, Alt facilitates the auction of your card — we do not buy it directly. After accepting the quote and shipping your item, you’ll receive a cash advance upfront, and once the card sells in auction, the remaining proceeds (if any) will be automatically paid out to your Alt account.
Can I have multiple open quotes simultaneously?
A: Yes, there is no submission limit. However, submitting duplicate quotes for the same cards is not permitted and may lead to account restrictions.
How long do I have to accept a cash advance offer?
A: Cash advance offers are valid for 48 hours.
How long do I have to ship my cards after accepting a cash advance offer?
A: You have about one week from acceptance to ensure item delivery to the Alt vault. Items arriving later may be repriced due to market changes.
When will I receive my cash advance?
A: Cash advances are credited to your Alt account within 24 hours of vault intake processing (typically 24-48 hours upon arrival to our facilities). Delays may occur if any issues are detected with the cards received.
Can I cancel the submission if I accept an offer by mistake?
A: No worries — you are not obligated to sell your cards unless they’ve been received at our Vault and your cash advance has been issued. If you accidentally accepted an offer, an Alt Expert can revert your submission back to the previous state. You can then simply decline the offer from your 'Estimate Details' screen in the app.
I was just trying to look up my card’s value — why did it create a submission?
A: When using the Snap to Sell feature, once you photograph and submit a card, it enters our quoting flow for potential auction submission and cash advance evaluation. If you didn’t mean to create a submission, don’t worry — you are not committed unless you accept the offer and ship your cards. You can decline any offer directly from your Estimate Details screen, or reach out to an Alt Expert to cancel your submission.
