General Suggestions

We recommend shipping with multiple layers of bubble wrap in each respective package.
To prevent items from bending or cracking, we suggest adding cardboard to each side of your assets.
Placing your assets in a bubble mailer regardless of whether you are shipping the mailer as is or putting it in a larger box can also further prevent damage in the shipping process.

Shipping and Insurance:

Shipping to the Vault: Customers are responsible for shipping charges to the Vault. A prepaid shipping label can be created from your ALT Profile and shipping charges will be applied to your account. Standard shipping rates apply. Customers are also responsible for all insurance coverage for packages sent to the Vault. This can be done through a shipping carrier or a personal policy.
Shipping from the Vault: Customers are responsible for shipping charges from the Vault and shipping charges will be applied to your account balance and your account must be funded to cover shipping fees. Packages sent from the Vault are insured by ALT. A signature upon delivery will be required for any packages with a value of $5,000. If multiple cards are requested at outtake, they may arrive in separate packages. All cards shipped out of the Vault will be charged 1% of their ALT Value at the time of outtake. There is a maximum fee of $30 per card in an Outtake, and a shipping limit of 25 cards per outtake. Cards purchased on ALT within 10 days of a shipping request from the Vault will not be charged this fee.

ALT does not currently support international outtakes but looks forward to providing this in the near future. International users will need to request outtake to a domestic US address and then ship internationally.

USPS

Small Flat Rate Priority Box (8 11/16" x 5 7/16" x 1 3/4") - Will hold 5-10 graded cards comfortably surrounded by a few layers of bubble wrap for added protection. Weight for 5 PSA graded cards packaged is around 12 ounces.
Medium Flat Rate Priority Box (11 1/4" x 8 3/4" x 6" or 14" x 12" x 3 1/2")- Will hold 40-50 graded cards comfortably surrounded by a few layers of bubble wrap for added protection. Weight for 40 PSA graded cards packaged is around 5 pounds.
Large Flat Rate Priority Box- Will hold 80-100 graded cards comfortably surrounded by a few layers of bubble wrap for added protection. Weight for 80 PSA graded cards packaged is around 9 pounds.
Priority Mail Express- Overnight guaranteed shipping. Great for higher priced items for quick delivery. There are flat rates that you can fit a bubble mailer in with 2-3 graded cards safely or pay based on size and weight of package. They also provide flat rate boxes similar to priority mailboxes above for a higher price.
Registered Mail- Most cost-efficient and safest way to ship high end items. The drawback is registered mail takes a lot longer to travel as packages are checked in and out of a locked vault at every location in transit on the way to the destination.

FedEx

Size Options

Envelope - roughly 8x11 cardboard or bubble envelopes that can fit bubble mailers with 2-4 cards depending on card thickness.
Pack - roughly 8x11 soft 'packs' that can fit bubble mailers with 2-4 cards depending on card thickness.

Box - various sizes available for shipping larger quantities of cards- should be used for anything above 5 cards.

FedEx Service Options

FedEx Express Saver- Delivery to businesses by 4:30 p.m. and to residences by 8 p.m. in 3 business days.
FedEx 2Day- By 4:30 p.m. in 2 business days to most areas (by 8 p.m. to residences).
FedEx 2Day AM- Second-business-day delivery by 10:30 a.m. to most U.S. addresses, by noon to rural area.
FedEx Standard Overnight- Next-business-day delivery by 3 p.m. to most U.S. addresses, by 4:30 p.m. to rural areas and by 8 p.m. to residences.
FedEx Priority Overnight- Next-business-day delivery by 10:30 a.m. to most U.S. addresses; by noon, 4:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. to some rural or remote areas; by noon, 1:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. ALT recommends this option for packages whose value is between $10,000 and $100,000.
FedEx First Overnight- Next-business-day delivery by 8, 8:30, 9 or 9:30 a.m. to most areas and by 10 a.m., 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. to additional extended areas, depending on the destination ZIP code.
